Run the Windows installer. It sets up everything and offers to launch with Windows so the robot is always ready during market hours.
Paste your license key, connect your Alpaca account (paper or live), and click Start Trading. That's it.
This is the one genuinely fiddly step for most people, so here's the whole thing:
Sign in at alpaca.markets. For your first run we recommend a free Paper Trading account (fake money, real market data).
In your dashboard, switch to Paper Trading (top-left toggle), then open API Keys in the right sidebar.
Click Generate New Key. You'll see an API Key ID and a Secret Key. Copy both — the secret is shown only once.
In the robot, open Settings → Connection, paste both into the Paper Trading fields, and click Test Connection. You should see your account and buying power. Done.
